The Polar Sea
Ice Music Festival 2015 will stage its first environmental seminar, presented by Kerim Nisancioglu - one of the world's leading environmental scientists (based out of the Bjerknes Centre at the University of Bergen). The seminar is called 'What Happens To The Ice In The Arctic?' and it will focus on the annual Arctic Ocean melt and its global consequences and will be hosted by Dr Holms Hotel on Saturday 7th at 17.00hrs.
To give you a taster of what to expect, you can dig into an interview with Terje Isungset conducted by the team who have produced a mammoth exploration of modern life in the Arctic called The Polar Sea.
Made by Germany's ARTE.TV Channel, the epic journey through the Arctic unfolds over 10 episodes, featuring a range of studies, encounters and stories, along with an interactive app for both iOS and Android.
During Episode 2, online director Stephanie Weimar catches up with Terje in Upernavik, Greenland - where he was making a recording for his up coming Ice Music album called 'Meditations' (released January 12th on All Ice Records). Click the screengrab below and scroll down to the interview...
